Mere hours ago, the American poker player Dave Alfa conquered 2018/19 WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant Main Event, which brought him his second gold ring during the Choctaw series and secured him a seat at the Global Casino Championship.
Earlier in January, Dave Alfa won the $400 Big O event at the Choctaw Durant’s stop of the Circuit series, which also brought him a gold ring in addition to the first-place prize of $16,732.
Taking down the $1,700 Main Event which featured a $1-million guarantee also brought Alfa a cash portion of $320,998. So far, this is the largest live winning of the player, boosting his all-time live earnings to more than $600,000.

The Main Event of the Choctaw Durant stop of the WSOP Circuit series saw a total of 1,161 registrations, who accounted for an overall prizepool of $1,758,915. The $1,700 Main Event started on January 11th, with 441 players registering on Day 1A. Day 1B started with Dabo Ajayi as a chip leader to the 65 remaining players and compiled a total of 720 slips. Michael Wood became the chip leader of the 105 players who moved on to Day 2 after the second flight. The second day of the Main Event then started, gathering all the 170 remaining players at one place.
Over 1,000 entrants showed up for the @ChoctawDurant Main Event, generating a $1,758,915 prizepool. The top 117 finishers will receive a WSOP cash with $320,998 up top.

Only 14 Players Returned for Main Event’s Final Day
The massive player field of 1,161 entries was narrowed down to only 14, with Dave Alfa sitting near the bottom of the pack at the beginning of the final day of the Choctaw Main Even. At the beginning of the third day of the event, it was Kevin Rand who led the pack.
Shortly after that, Dave Alfa started building a stronger presence. It took him only an hour and a half since the beginning of Day 3 to bust Srinasa Vadlamudi at the tenth position and form the final table of the event. Alfa continued his victorious march towards the first place and after several hours of play, he finally reached the heads-up play, following Day 3 chip leader’s exit.

The heads-up play was quick, with Alfa winning a second first-place victory at the Circuit’s Choctaw Durant stop in days.
With Dave Alfa emerging as the winner of the 2018/19 WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant $1,700 Main Event and taking home a $320,998 prizepool portion, Dapo Ajayi remained at the runner-up position. He received $198,265 for his efforts. The third place was occupied by Kevin Rand, who took home a prizepool portion amounting to $147,327.
Arshin Gamini took the 4th place, followed by Austin Lewis. The sixth and seventh position were occupied by Amir Kaikhah and Mohammed Arani, respectively, and Brendon O’Neal followed on the eighth. Will Berry remained ninth for $31,836.
